POSITION DESCRIPTION
JSI seeks a qualified Logistics Officer for the USAID-funded projects in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Logistics Officer will coordinate and organize meetings, trainings, project events, site visits, and travel logistics. The Logistics Officer will report directly to the Country Finance & Operations Director.

Qualification requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 4 to 5 years’ relevant experience preferably with international organizations/projects;
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory and fleet management, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, partners, and recipients of assistance;
  • Experience in organizing project events;
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize and handle high-pressure situations;
  • Ability to interpret financial and other quantitative information and reports;
  • Able to handle quantitative information with accuracy and precision; resourceful in gathering information;
  • Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical values at all times;
  • Able to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision;
  • Knowledge of financial reporting requirements;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Any relevant professional qualifications are an advantage;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Fluency in English, Russian and Kyrgyz is required.

Duties

  • Organization and management of logistical activities for projects within JSI and USAID guidelines and regulations;
  • Provide administrative support;
  • Assist in training and preparing project staff for meetings, travel, and presentations;
  • Ensure that staff are well set up and comfortable in the office space and surrounding premises;
  • Maintain inventory of project non-expendable equipment including tagging of equipment and furniture, tracking its location and condition, and preparing and submitting USAID required reports;
  • Coordinate with project staff to create and maintain administrative/financial files for the office, keeping them in a consistent and orderly manner;
  • Coordinate travel requirements for staff and consultants including hotel accommodations and conference booking;
  • Schedule repairs and routine maintenance of all other Branch Office equipment, including but not limited to photocopiers, generators, air conditioners, etc.;
  • Select, negotiate, and monitor maintenance contracts on project equipment with vendors;
  • Maintain vendor files;
  • Monitor and follow the budget for project activities;
  • Prepare workshops schedule/payment to participants;
  • Create and keep the Service Providers database up to date and tracking payments to vendors;
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Branch Office Director and Country Finance & Operations Director.
