Open position for a Mathematics Teacher at Silk Road International School for the school year 2024/2025.

Silk Road International School (SRIS) invites applications for a Mathematics Teacher for High School for the 2024/2025 school year, with a focus on A-Level Mathematics. We are seeking an engaging and enthusiastic teacher to inspire and instill a love for mathematics in high school students (Grades 9-12).

This position is open for: Kyrgyz Citizens, Kyrgyz Residents.

SRIS is a Cambridge International School that empowers students with a holistic education, using English as the main language during all 'non-language' subjects. Our Mathematics department aims to foster an understanding and appreciation of mathematics in our students. The successful candidate will be expected to create an engaging curriculum based on the Cambridge syllabi and provide a learning environment that encourages student curiosity.

We need a committed Mathematics Teacher to educate our high school students, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in alignment with school standards.

Qualification requirements

• Ideally, a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field.
• Some experience teaching mathematics in a school setting is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Languages:

• English: Solid B2 Level (Independent user > Vantage or upper intermediate)

Duties

• Teaching mathematics to high school students (Grades 9-12), focusing on A-Level Mathematics.
• Developing and implementing an engaging mathematics curriculum.
• Monitoring student progress through assignments, quizzes, and tests.
• Encouraging student participation and stimulating critical thinking through mathematics.
• Collaborating with the SRIS teaching staff to meet the school’s overall goals.

Conditions

Start and Duration:

• The position is for the 2024/2025 school year, starting with a week of teacher induction training on 15.08.2024. Classes commence on 26.08.2024.
• This is a full-time role, with the possibility of contract extension after the initial school year.
