As a German federal company, GIZ is supporting the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to implement their tasks in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the programme “Renewable Energy in Central Asia”. The project is co-financed by the EU. The overall objective of the programme is to enhance the conditions and regional cooperation for integration and expansion of renewable energy sources (RES) at national and regional levels in Central Asia (CA). The programme has multidimensional and multilevel character as it cooperates with state and non-governmental institutions at various levels and works in close coordination with other international organizations in CA, particularly with the European Union.

Qualification requirements

Intern Candidate Profile

• Students, fresh graduates or young professionals currently pursuing higher studies (students who have completed graduation or higher studies not more than 6 months ago);
• Study background or experience in the field of business administration, economics, international relations, or comparable study programmes in the project related area (energy);
• A basic understanding of the energy sector would be a strong asset;
• Very good command of English, Russian, Kyrgyz is required;
• Previous work experience is not required, but considered as additional asset;
• Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).

Duties

Tasks

Next to supporting the daily work of the project team, the intern will particularly engage in:

• supporting the preparation, implementation and follow-up of workshops, meetings and other project events;
• assisting with provision of overall technical support during the events and activities;
• assisting with the documentation and managing the translation where needed, including the translation of project information and documentation;
• supporting knowledge management of the project;
• supporting coordination and communication with partners and relevant stakeholders;
• assisting in preparing the Back-to-Office reporting for relevant events;
• assisting with research activities and studies on project’s relevant topics; 
• providing other support to the project team.

Conditions

Details on the Internship

• Duration: 6 months
• Compensation: 200 EUR net per month
• Duty Station: Bishkek
• Transport and accommodation in case of business trips will be covered by GIZ in accordance with GIZ rules and procedures.
