Full Title: MONITORING, REPORTING AND EVALUATING SPECIALIST/ SMALL GRANTS COORDINATOR (Open to Kyrgyzstan Nationals only)

Unit/Office: PROGRAMMING AND TRAINING UNIT

Reports To: Director of Programming and Training (DPT)

Duty Station: BISHKEK city

 

Dates/length of contract:

  • The anticipated contract will be for a base period, with up to four option periods, exercisable at the unilateral option of the Peace Corps based on satisfactory performance, continued need for the position, and availability of funds.
  • This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum working schedule of 40 hours per week.

The Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluating Specialist/ Small Grants Coordinator (MRES) will coordinate with the Country Director (CD), Director of Programming and Training (DPT), Programming and Training Unit (PTU), Small Grants Committee, and other staff to create a comprehensive MRE culture at Post including data collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination. Responsibilities at the collection level include Peace Corps Trainees (newly arrived) and Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs, after completion of arrival training program) and staff. MRES is responsible for MRE training, Volunteer Reporting and Grants system (VRG) expertise, documenting results of Volunteer Small Grants and other projects such as TEFL and other programs.

Qualification requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum:

Education: University degree, equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree, in Social Science, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Analytics, International Development, Business Administration, Grants Management, Project Management or other relevant field is required.

Experience: Two years of relevant professional work experience in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, program/project management, project design, and/or small grants management, including training background.

Language: Excellent written and spoken knowledge of English and Kyrgyz.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Design, implement and evaluate training;
  • Proven knowledge of Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation principles and application;
  • Ability to analyze data, compile results relevant to Post strategic operations;
  • Strong team working skills and ability to articulate and implement plans across units at Post;
  • Skill in translation of paper or electronic documents and correspondence, interpretation for meetings, speeches and conversations;
  • Ability to simplify technical MRE topics for understanding by generalists.
  • Practical abilities in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), the Internet. Familiarity with data management software a plus.
  • Demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Experience working in international organizations preferred.
  • Russian a preferred third language.

Duties

The individual will be required to follow any workplace health and/or safety rules indicated for their position specified in a Peace Corps policy/policies – including complying with any medical and/or training requirements the policy/policies specify.
