The Program and Communications Officer will provide administrative/logistics support for project implementation and implement a knowledge management and communication strategy for USAID Advancing Nutrition in the Kyrgyz Republic. This position requires streamlining communications efforts both within the country team, and developing and strategically disseminating materials and documents about USAID Advancing Nutrition to an external audience. (S)he will work with the USAID Advancing Nutrition Knowledge Management Director and Country Project Coordinator to set a clear knowledge management vision and direction, prioritize activities, execute work plans, and lead the production and dissemination of publications and promotional materials. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, and will ideally have experience working in USAID projects and public health/international development. This position is based in Bishkek, with travel to Jalalabad and Batken oblasts as needed.

USAID Advancing Nutrition is USAID’s flagship multi-sectoral nutrition project, led by the JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), and a diverse group of experienced partners. Launched in September 2018, USAID Advancing Nutrition implements and provides technical support to nutrition interventions across sectors and disciplines for USAID and its partners. Within the Kyrgyz Republic, USAID Advancing Nutrition will work to improve key health behaviors in Jalalabad and Batken oblasts. The project’s objective is to sustainably improve the nutritional status of the Kyrgyzstani population through the improvement of nutrition-related behaviors, strengthening the quality of nutrition services within the health system, and increasing the consumption of nutritious foods.
