The team of experts for International Alert’s project “Tatyktuu Zhashoo (Living in Dignity)”, Ensuring key messages on preventing violence against women and girls to reach religious communities.
Background
The onset of COVID-19 and the lockdown imposed by the government has intensified domestic violence in Kyrgyzstan, escalating numbers of affected women during quarantine. Therefore, the effective implementation of NAPG is increasingly important and there is an urgent need to disseminate effective messages on VAWG prevention.
The project “Tatyktuu Zhashoo” is aimed at gaining the support and involvement of religious leaders in the implementation of the National Action Plan on Gender and in a targeted communications campaign for different religious communities on preventing violence against women and girls to respond to the sharp increase in gender-based violence related to the COVID-19 pandemic, i.e. quarantine and the longer-term effects, such as food and economic security which dive violence against women and girls.
Required skills and experience
Objective of the assignment
Given information above, International Alert is hiring an expert a group of experts on conducting the review of NAPG and the Government of Kyrgyzstan’s proposed recovery programming in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The team of experts will convene to agree on the draft methodologies for the review of NAPG review, to finalise the pool of individuals for the Working Group and dates for meetings, and select topics to be covered in terms of gender sensitisation.
The team of a lead researcher, supported by 2 additional experts, will identify potential gaps and opportunities in their planning and implementation regarding engagement with and the involvement of religious communities.
As a summary of above points, expert or a group of experts should conduct the following activities:
Timing and duration
After a meeting with International Alert’s programme team for orientation on the methodology, a lead researcher, supported by 1- 2 additional experts, will have up to 10 working days to create a draft report (in both Russian and Kyrgyz languages) on their findings, which should be presented to International Alert by 27 of August 2020. The final report to be submitted no later than by 1 of September 2020.

Deadline for submission of applications
Applications to be submitted by COB, Tuesday, August 11th, 2020.
The proposed budget
The maximum amount of the budget is 2500 euro (including all required tax and other costs)
