Общие сведения


As a point of contact for the IME team, you are responsible for administrative and logistical sub-projects for the Medical Education Reform (MER) Project in Kyrgyz Republic.

Project Description:
The Project “Medical Education Reform in the Kyrgyz Republic” (MER Project) promotes the implementation of the reform process at the level of undergraduate, postgraduate and continuous medical education and nursing education, which is a part of the reform of the health care sector in Kyrgyzstan. In the framework of the implementation of the healthcare reform program initiated by the Ministry of Health in 2008, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has been providing financial support to reform the medical education system.

The MER Project acts as a mediator for the reform process and provides an expertise, ideas and support to local partners, which are actively involved in improving medical education at all three levels.

The Project also contributes through the provision of the international expertise and experience of the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva (UNIGE) to develop the new initiatives adapted to local needs. The reforms are implemented by national experts by reorganizing medical education in Kyrgyzstan, taking into account local conditions and opportunities to achieve a unique and effective result.


To improve the quality of medical services, provided by physicians and nurses through increasing their level of professional competences with a focus to be given to the training of family physicians/GPs

To provide assistance in addressing the HR crisis in the regions

The goals are closely linked to the National Health Care Development Program until 2030 and the policies of the Ministry of Health, the implementation of which is supported by the Medical Education Reform Project.


  • Master Degree or equivalent in  Management/ Linguistics/International Relations etc.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Fluency in spoken and written Russian, Kyrgyz languages
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant administrative experience at national and/or international level is required
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (WordPress, MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Good management and organizational skills
  • Interest, experience or training in the medical field

  • An ability to plan/schedule work activities independently, with minimum supervision
  • Reliability, punctuality


The main responsibility for the Project Specialist is:

  • to support MER project manager and MER personnel with project responsibilities (planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring), including the financial and administrative aspects
  • to keep regular contacts and interactions with MER headquarters in Geneva HUG for all the necessary financial and managerial activities related to MER
  • to participate actively in the project development and initiatives as full member of the MER team
  • to assist in organizing events and meetings, workshops and seminars
  • to provide all administrative tasks such as filing, appointments booking, invoicing
  • to prepare  PR materials, write and post news about MER project on  facebook page
  • to manage and feed  2 websites content with news, innovative topic and useful content
  • to provide written translation for correspondence and oral translation during Skypes and meetings with international experts
  • to determine and establish office procedures and routines
  • to arrange accommodation, transfers for project staff, long-term experts, short-term experts, visitors
  • to answer electronic enquiries
  • to procure tickets for domestic and international travel for project staff and participants of workshops and seminars
  • to procure office materials
  • to record and prepare minutes of meetings, seminars and conferences if necessary
  • to perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Целью деятельности Организации является консолидация усилий и взаимодействие медицинских образовательных организаций Кыргызской Республики по вопросам развития системы высшего, послевузовского и среднего медицинского и фармацевтического образования Кыргызской Республики.
