OBJECTIVES
1. To provide the best students in the country with excellent international education so that they qualify to enter the top universities worldwide
2. To develop students with a well-rounded education and leadership skills for the future
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP
1. Must be 15, 16, or 17 years old in September 2018[1]
2. Must pass exams in English and Mathematics set by BIS, to prove English language and numeracy skills
3. Must pass an interview with the BIS Head of School (or designee) to confirm English language skills and a positive approach to learning
4. Must demonstrate financial need for a scholarship.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
1. 50% to 90% discount scholarship from the full school fee for students applying for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program http://www.ibo.org/programmes/diploma-programme/ or to enter the second year of the Cambridge IGCSE http://www.cie.org.uk/programmes-and-qualifications/cambridge-secondary-2/cambridge-igcse/
2. Scholarships start from 27 August 2018 and continue until leaving BIS at 18-19 years old, provided scholars maintain high academic and social standards while at school[2]
[1] Must be 15, 16 OR 17 years old on 1st September 2018 and finished Grade 9 or 10 in local school. Special exceptions are possible.
2 The scholarship discount will be removed in case of poor academic performance or discipline or late payment of fees.
APPLICATION AND AWARD PROCESS
1. Apply any-time before 15th May 2018.
2. Fill in the application form on the next page and send the completed form by email attachment to admissions@bis.kg OR deliver a hard copy to BIS, including these documents:
1. Completed application form
2. Copy of passport showing birthdate and citizenship
3. Copy of the most recent school report – if available. All applications will be treated in confidence.
Examination and interview will take place at ESCA-BIS on May 21-23rd 2018.
4. Short-listed candidates will be asked to complete and submit BIS’s Family Income Declaration form within 3 working days after request. Award of scholarship and amount of scholarship is dependent on financial need for a scholarship.
5. A decision on scholarship award will be announced on June 12th 2018 and you will be notified by email or telephone (as requested by you).
After award of scholarship, complete the student enrolment form and make payment (minus scholarship discount) in the same way as for other new students enrolling at ESCA-BIS.
